HOW DID THE COOLEST SHOP ON THE PLANET START...?
Basically, we love ice cream. Not in a kiss on the cheek, holding hands sort of way – but in a full on, snog your face off fashion.

So, we calculated that there were plenty of other people out there who felt the same, and who would really like the idea of a place where they could chill. A place with a great vibe, plenty of top tunes and, of course, the most gorgeously great ice cream you could ever wish for.

…BUT WHAT ABOUT THE NAME?
This was always going to be tricky. So we got a few great minds
(e.g. our friends) together in a farmhouse in the middle of the Italian countryside to kick around some ideas.

And what did we come up with… a made-up word, that’s something to do with several dice, a nickname for a loved one, and the Italian term for ‘oh come on!’ Okay, it doesn’t make a lot of sense, but it sounded pretty good – and tastes even better!

DAIDADI IS BORN
In 1997, armed only with a daring ice cream concept and
a made-up name, we set about making our dream a reality.

We chose a fun and funky colour scheme, and set to work
painting the signs, the seats, the tables – and even the cows!

And just as our collection of cute cows has grown, so has our
reputation – as has the number of people who just can’t get enough
of the delicious DAIDADI stuff.

It’s not like we spent loads of cash on advertising either. Locals and tourists just popped in, liked what they saw, dug what they heard and, most importantly, loved what they tasted. Then they told their friends, who told their friends, and so on.

And really it makes total sense that the DAIDADI ice cream experience should grow by word of mouth.
